ONE OCEAN PLANET HAS A SINGULAR FOCUS:

RESTORE THE OCEAN SO WE CAN PROTECT WHAT WE ALL LOVE – LIFE ON THIS PLANET.

OUR MISSION

To protect and restore the ocean by fighting climate change, safeguarding biodiversity, and channelling female energy to radically change prevailing systems so we can protect what we love.

OUR VISION

We envision a healthy blue planet for the long-term benefit of all life on Earth; vibrant, richly biodiverse, and once again in equilibrium.

WHY WE DO THIS

As our planet warms, we’re seeing more intense and frequent extreme weather, rising sea levels and decreasing biodiversity.  The climate crisis impacts every aspect of life on Earth — and while the scale can feel overwhelming, the movement for change is growing stronger every day.

The good news? None of us are facing this alone. One of our greatest allies in the fight against climate change is the ocean. It absorbs heat, produces CO2, regulates weather, supports billions of lives and livelihoods, and holds the key to many nature-based solutions. But it’s under threat — from warming climate, acidification, pollution, and overexploitation. Protecting and restoring the health of the ocean is critical to our survival.

What was once a warning is now a tipping point: restoring balance to our environment is the defining challenge of our time. And it’s a team effort. Each of us has a role to play, by rethinking the way we live, work, travel, eat and power our lives.
The ocean is still working for us within the planetary boundaries so there’s still time to restore it back to full health.

We all hold some kind of power to make a difference to our fragile planet. Whether our power be big or small, formal or informal, over social media, in our homes or at our workplace, at policy level or through our lifestyle choices… We must now use everything we have.

We wish for this to be an additional platform for you to enact further change on top of what you already are doing. We wish to accelerate solutions-in-progress together. One Ocean Planet is born out of the inspiration of this pale blue dot hurtling in a harsh, cold space, in which we have found none other like it. What has allowed such marvellously rich wonder on our planet to blossom is the ocean – our beautiful blue body of water that sustains all life on Earth – and what we cannot let die.

Let’s keep going.

WE SUPPORT THE UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Our reasons for existing are to support SDG13 and SDG14, the latter the most underfunded of the SDGs. We strongly believe that female energy and participation alongside strong collaboration is needed to achieve results which is where SDG5 and SDDG17 come in.
