It all began in lockdown over a virtual meeting, when Cristina (and her brilliant Paul) listened to our vision of how we might contribute to the plight of the ocean. Cristina offered thoughtful advice and encouraged us to dive in. The following year, she invited our first commercial product for the ocean, Ocean Beer, into SeaLegacy’s Good Ocean community, a collective composed of passionate and proactive business owners united by a commitment to disrupting retail and driving systemic change in consumer culture. As our relationship deepened, Cristina became a Patron of our first initiative, Ocean Born Foundation, a role she held until we gifted the brand and its business units to new entities.

In 2025 we founded One Ocean Planet and Cristina once again gracefully accepted the role of Patron. Her ongoing support, wisdom, and encouragement continue to inspire and energize us. We are profoundly grateful for her belief in our mission and her unwavering commitment to the ocean.

Cristina’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Born in Mexico City, she has spent the past 25 years building an inimitable body of work as an award-winning photographer, marine biologist, and dedicated conservationist. She holds a degree in Biochemical Engineering in Marine Sciences from ITESM University and pursued Fine Art Photography at the Corcoran College of Art in Washington, D.C.
