Manuela Maqueda Is an environmental entrepreneur and activist who focusses on eliminating single-use plastics and accelerating the transition to more sustainable systems. Through SUPER, he works with organisations, communities and young leaders to reduce plastic pollution and rethink how materials are used in everyday life.

Through this certificate program, Clio and Nina are deepening their understanding of plastic pollution and exploring practical ways to reduce single-use plastics whilst becoming part of a growing global movement advocating for healthier oceans and a more responsible relationship with our planet.

Single Use Plastic

It pollutes the ocean for centuries
Most single-use plastics take hundreds of years to break down.

It harms marine wildlife
Animals often mistake plastic for food or become entangled in it.

It breaks into microplastics
Plastic never truly disappears it becomes tiny particles that spread everywhere.

It enters the food chain
Microplastics are now found in fish, seafood, water and even human bodies.

It contributes to climate change
Plastic production and disposal release large amounts of greenhouse gases.

It threatens ocean ecosystems
Plastic pollution damages habitats and weakens the health of marine ecosystems.
